The Great Indian Kapil Show salaries revealed! Sunil Grover earns less than 5% of Kapil Sharma’s huge pay cheque

Kapil Sharma-hosted The Great Indian Kapil Show has been making the audience laugh their hearts out ever since it premiered on Netflix last month. The fun talk show, which saw stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Aamir Khan, cricketer Rohit Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and more grace its couch, is reportedly coming to an end. While Kiku Sharda confirms TGIKS will be returning with season 2, a new report has been doing the rounds detailing how much the comedians have received for the first five episodes.

The Great Indian Kapil Show salaries

According to a report by Zee Hindustan (and cited by DNA India), Kapil Sharma has commanded a hefty sum of Rs 26 crore for five episodes, This equates to over Rs 5 crore per episode. This staggering figure reflects the comedian-host’s prominent stature in the industry. While he takes a hefty cheque, Sunil Grover reportedly received less than 5% of it.

Grover, who reunited with Sharma after seven years, is said to be charging a notable Rs 25 lakh per episode. This takes his cumulative earnings for the first five episodes to Rs 1.25 crore. Archana Puran Singh and Krushna Abhishek are reportedly receiving Rs 10 lakhs per episode. Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur are reportedly being paid Rs 7 lakh and Rs 6 lakh per episode, respectively.

The Great Indian Kapil Show season 2?

As reports surface that The Great Indian Kapil Show is coming to an end, Kiku Sharda has revealed season 2 is on the cards. The comedian, while conversing with News18, stated that the show will indeed return for a second season and reassured audiences that the wrap-up is merely temporary.

Kiku said, “We have done 13 episodes, and the second season will come out soon.” the show’s ongoing momentum. He further continued, “On television, it used to be longer but it is about different formats. This is also interesting. There will be a short gap now and the second season will be back soon. It sounds like a wrap because we make it look like it. But it is temporary. We will be functioning soon again.”
